Dr. Matthew Carmichael is a board-certified Wound Specialist Physician (CWSP) through the American Board of Wound Management and a board-certified physician in Emergency Medicine, with a robust background in both clinical practice and leadership roles. He completed his undergraduate education at Taylor University and earned his medical degree from A.T. Still University – Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine (ATSU-KCOM). He went on to complete his emergency medicine residency at the University of Michigan Health – West campus in Grand Rapids, MI, later serving as Vice Chair of Emergency Medicine at Centerpoint Medical Center in Kansas City. Since relocating to Tulsa in 2017, Dr. Carmichael has continued to make a meaningful impact on local healthcare, previously holding Medical Director roles for the Emergency Departments at both St. Francis Healthcare System and Hillcrest Healthcare System before joining AWT.
Outside of his professional work, Dr. Carmichael enjoys spending time outdoors, coaching youth sports, and being with his family. He and his wife, a Tulsa native, are the proud parents of eight children. He remains dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care while advancing education and leadership within the medical field.
